Accommodation

At Châtaigne Cottages we can accommodate parties of various sizes in our four gîtes. Châtaigne House has four bedrooms, one on the ground floor, and can comfortably sleep eleven, whilst Laurel House, Birch Lodge and Pine Cottage all have one twin bedroom and one double bedroom. We offer cots and put-you-up beds free of charge for any ‘extras’ ­ within reason, of course!

All properties have well equipped kitchens with access to a shared freezer and laundry facilities. Each house is fully furnished, and has a multitude of original features, as well as the modern benefit of satellite TV (Please bring your own digibox and card with you!)

Within the front garden, each house has its own designated area for outdoor eating with its own table, chairs and sunshade. You will find plenty more chairs and loungers for use around the pool.

All houses are fitted with smoke alarms, and stairgates are available on request. The whole site is enclosed and away from the road which is very quiet in any case. The recreation area is separately gated and there is a further gate into the pool/bar area. In the past we have been popular with families with small children because of the security of the site.

We offer a range of reading material in the houses and a small games cupboard with a variety of balls, pool toys and a selection of small bikes and trikes. For those wishing to practice their technique before challenging the locals, we have a boules court next to the pool. We have 4 adult & 4 childrens' bikes for local use.

Extensive renovations have been completed, including a new decking surround for the pool and poolside bar area, updated bathrooms, kitchens and general decoration. We aim to offer you all the comforts of home set in the magnificent French countryside.

Within the local area there are a number of activities available for the more energetic visitor, including tennis, horseriding, golf and watersports. Châtaigne Cottages are ideally situated for walkers and cyclists, being surrounded by rolling fields and chestnut woods criss-crossed with paths and tracks. We are also next door to a privately owned lake where fishing can be arranged for a small daily charge.
